The Berry Theatre

The Berry Theatre in Hedge End is the South East’s newest creative landmark. This exciting venue is a regional platform for inspiring professional drama and a cultural hub for the local community.

Entrance  The Berry Theatre  Foyer

The new state of the art performance space opened in 2011 and offers an exciting programme of drama, theatre, music, film, comedy, community events and family shows. There is also a creative learning programme that engages people of all ages and abilities. The programme provides opportunities for people to work collaboratively with a professional creative team and offers courses and workshops in theatre, technical theatre, arts marketing and creative writing. The Berry Theatre is also home to the Berry Youth Theatre Company, the Technical Youth Theatre, Hampshire Young Playwrights and the Writers Hub.

Inspired by Hedge End’s heritage the theatre’s name was inspired by the areas fruit growing past as the strawberry growing capital of southern England. The name was suggested by local resident, Mrs Sheila Perry, after the opportunity to name the theatre was opened to the public in 2010.
