Conservation at Lakeside Country Park

Conservation 
Part of the management plan for Lakeside is to graze cows. The fencing is in place and, as from Spring 2010, cattle will graze in one of the fenced-off areas.

Species 
Many different species of flora and fauna can be found here.

Bats - to date, 7 species have been observed at lakeside, amongs them is the rare migrant Nathusius pipistrelle. Some of the commoner species have been recorded whilst swarming over the lakes.

Habitat
This restored gavel pit is now wetlands, lakes and woodland that provides a haven for butterflies, water-birds and flowers.
