What Activities Will They Take Part In?Heritage Lottery Fund

Forest School Activities  

The activities will be determined by age/ability but as a rough guide:

Young children will take part in:

Interactive storytelling
Games
Songs
Learning knots
Making pictures out of natural materials
Pond dipping
Minibeast hunting
Crafts
Identification
Den building for teddies

Juniors may experience:

Simple den building
Campfire building and cookery
Tool use (Bowsaws, hacksaws, secateurs and potato peelers)
Learning knots
Nature identification
Pond dipping
Minibeast hunting
Crafts using natural materials, e.g. elder beads
Trail designing (and following!)
Making clay bricks
Understanding wood and its different uses
Ropes and pulleys

Older students will try:

More structured shelter building
Lighting a fire in different ways
Cooking more complicated food over a campfire
Ropes and pulleys
Green woodworking
Knots
Tool use
Designing and building supports for billy cans
