We have been lucky enough to be awarded a £50,000 grant by the Heritage Lottery Fund to run a Forest School at Itchen Valley Country Park for the next two years. The facility will be available for local schools and children's groups (Home Educated Groups and Childminding Groups) to book half term blocks of half day sessions which will be led by a trained Forest School Leader accompanied by trained volunteers.

The Forest School ethos is that children should be outside for regular periods interacting with nature and the countryside around them. During these sessions they not only learn about nature and the environment but they improve their social and physical skills.

We are offering the sessions to local schools/groups from pre-schools to secondary (ages 3 to 13) on a first come first served basis.

Schools/groups need to commit to 6 regular sessions on an Wednesday, Thursday or Friday morning or afternoon.

Session times are:

Morning - 9.30am to 11.30pm

Afternoon - 12.30pm to 2.30pm
