Sustainability Appraisal and Strategic Environmental Assessment Scoping Report for the Local Development Framework

The purpose of Sustainability Appraisal (SA) (which includes Strategic Environmental Assessment - SEA) is to promote sustainable development by ensuring economic, social and environmental issues are taken into account in the production of the Borough’s Local Development Framework (LDF).  The Scoping Report sets out the baseline data and the framework of objectives and criteria used to undertake the SA and SEA. It has been prepared for the Borough Council by UE Associates, who have proposed some changes to the way the report is structured, and revised the SA/SEA framework.

Your views are invited on revisions to Eastleigh Borough Council’s Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report published on 7 June 2010.  The closing date for comments is 19 July 2010.
