Sustainability Appraisal and Strategic Environmental Assessment

Sustainability Appraisal (SA) and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) promote sustainable development by ensuring that the proposals of the Local Development Framework (LDF) are fully tested against an agreed set of social, economic and environmental criteria. The Council has prepared and consulted on a Scoping Report which explains how SA and SEA are to be carried out, refers to baseline data relevant to the process and issues to be addressed, and establishes the framework of criteria for undertaking this work.  Baseline data is now set out in the Annual Monitoring Report.

The Local Development Framework (LDF) is a portfolio of documents that will outline how planning will be managed within Eastleigh Borough.
