Contact Planning Policy & Design
Planning Policy Team
Responsible for policy documents
setting out the Council’s strategy for new development in the
borough and for controlling development e.g. the adopted Eastleigh
Borough Local Plan Review (2001-2011) and the new Eastleigh Borough
Local Plan 2011-2029, including undertaking all the necessary
appraisal, consultation and publicity.
Provides advice on interpretation of
local, sub-regional and national policy to colleagues, other
agencies and organisations and the public.
Monitors the implementation of
policies, including the preparation of an Annual Monitoring
Report.
Provides planning-related statistical
data.
Design
Team
Works closely with Planning Policy, contributing to the
design and sustainability content of planning policy documents,
including development briefs and other guidance for individual
large sites.
Advises on the landscape, urban design and architectural content
of significant planning applications.
Provides specialist advice on building conservation and
conservation areas.
Designs environmental improvements and large scale urban design
proposals for our towns and villages
Commissions public art, in close collaboration with colleagues
from other units.
