Building Control's Electronic Submission has been upgraded

The following improvements have been made:

• The charge calculator is now related to your individual project - making payments easier
• The first time you access the system you will need to register - making the process quicker for future submissions

• The Building Control team are responsible for ensuring that building work is carried out in accordance with building regulations.

Building regulations are designed to ensure minimum standards relating to health and welfare of persons in and around buildings.  Requirements also apply to energy conservation, sustainability and make provision for buildings to be suitable and convenient for the less able.

Our team can advise you on a wide range of development projects, offering you the opportunity to discuss your plans before you submit them providing guidance during the design and construction period through to the completion of your project.

A duty Building Control Surveyor is normally available at the Civic Offices between 8.30 am -10.00 am and 3.00 pm - 5.00 pm Monday to Thursday and 3.00 pm - 4.30 pm Friday during which telephone calls and personal callers are welcome.  Outside these times it is recommended that an appointment be made with the Surveyor in question.

If you require non-technical general advice and assistance, Administration Staff are available during normal office hours (8.30 am - 5.00 pm Monday to Thursday, 8.30 am - 4.30 pm Friday).
