Plan of Scheme EEC173

Tollbar Way

Start date: May/June 2010

E/EC/202

Eastleigh Borough Council is proposing to install a signal controlled pedestrian crossing in Tollbar Way, Hedge End, between the B3035 Botley Road roundabout and the roundabout directly southwards that provides access to Sainsbury, M&S and other superstores.

Pedestrian surveys in Tollbar Way have highlighted a need for improved pedestrian crossing facilities between the two areas of the Retail Park each side of the road.  It is considered that a Toucan crossing would be the most appropriate form of crossing, which would also allow cyclists using the shared use cycle tracks each side of Tollbar Way to use the crossing.

Fair Oak Pedestrian Refuge

Start date: May/June 2010

E/EC/199

Eastleigh Borough Council is proposing to construct a new pedestrian refuge which measures 1.5m wide in Fair Oak Road east of the junction of Devine Gardens.  To install the refuge it will be necessary to widen the carriageway on the south side.  A new kerb build out will be constructed on the north side of the carriageway.
