Private Hire Operator's Licence

New applications and renewals

Before a private hire operator's licence is granted or renewed the applicant must :-

Complete and submit to the Council an application signed and completed by the applicant(s) in the form prescribed by the Council. Satisfy the Council that he/she is a fit and proper person to be the holder of such licence.

• Pay the appropriate fee to the Council - Current Fees and Charges
• Produce, for examination, a passport or driving licence for identification purposes
• Produce current insurance for vehicles to be operated
• Download the Application for Private Hire Operator's Licence

NOTE: Applicants should allow at least 2 - 4 weeks for the Council to process an application.
