New Affordable Housing Development

New developments within the Eastleigh borough will include a variety of different types of housing, which may include social rented, low cost home ownership, intermediate rented, and older persons. Some of these homes will be wheelchair accessible and will be advertised on the Eastleigh Homechoice Housing Register.To assist in your search the attached map pdf sets out the local areas within Eastleigh.

South Street, EastleighSouth Street

This site is being developed by Bovis Homes and Barratt Homes in conjunction with First Wessex (formerly Atlantic Housing Limited) The proposed development is due to provide a total of 149 affordable homes which will be in a range of sizes and will be available for both rent and Shared Ownership. The development is to be carried out in phases over a number of years. A number of affordable homes have already completed, with the next phase due Autumn 2011.

Dowd's Farm, Hedge EndDowds Farm

This site has been developed by Bovis Homes and Taylor Woodrow . The development has been carried out in phases over a number of years and includes a new school and a large and attractive parkland area.

Within the development of 765 homes, a proportion of affordable housing was required which have been developed in conjunction with  Radian (formerly Swaythling Housing Society). The affordable houses/flats are a range of sizes which have been made available for both rent and Shared Ownership.

The site is nearly complete with a final 6 rented units expected during Winter 2011. 

The rented units will be advertised via Eastleigh Homechoice  in the usual way.

Station Hotel, Netley AbbeyStation Public House

This site is being developed in conjunction with Radian (formerly Swaythling Housing Society) and will consist of 14 three bedroom houses, 20 two bedroom flats and 3 one bedroom flats. The scheme is due to provide a mixture of both rented and Shared Ownership homes.

The first phase of 14 houses completed in March 2011 with the next phase of flats scheduled to complete in Summer 2012.

Velmore Estate, Chandler's Fordbungalows

This existing scheme is being redeveloped by Atlantic Housing Limited and involves the demolition of 100 bungalows and the construction of 189 new units of housing, including flats, houses and bungalows. The redevelopment is being carried out in phases and First Wessex (formerly Atlantic Housing Limited) have the details of these on their website.

SGB Depot

This site is being developed by Radian (formerly Swaythling Housing Society) and will consist of 13 affordable housing units all to be made available for general needs rent.

The first 9 units completed duting July 2011 with the final 4 forecasted to complete during Autumn 2011.

These rented units will be advertised on Eastleigh Homechoice in the usual way.

Kings Copse School

This site is being developed by Foreman Homes in conjunction with First Wessex (formerly Atlantic Housing Limited). The proposed development is due to provide a total of 36 affordable housing units which will be a mixture of houses and flats which will be available for both rent and Shared Ownership. The work started on site during November 2010 with completed units forecast to be phased from Winter 2011.
