Why Save Energy?

There are three good reasons for using energy more efficiently:

Did You Know

  • the average British household spends about £1500 per year on fuel bills? The costs are rising over the years and the possibility of fossil fuel depletion is affecting the provision of our heating and electricity supplies now.
  • 30% or more could be saved by improving insulation and heating?
  • The heat and power used in your home is responsible for one quarter of the UK's emissions of carbon dioxide, one of the main gases that causes climate change?
  • There are a range of carbon footprint calculators on our climate change page.

Energy efficiency measures in your home also help you keep warm in the winter months.  Visit our Health & Warmth page for more information about how a cold home can affect you and your loved ones
