Home Energy Savingmother and daughter in bath

We all use energy in our homes to provide heating and run appliances.  In the UK the majority of this energy is generated from burning fossil fuels such as gas and coal.  This process produces carbon dioxide, a major cause of climate change. In this country our homes are responsible for 27% of the carbon dioxide emissions.  One of our primary objectives in Eastleigh is to help our residents to reduce their energy use, both to save them money, and reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas.

The Energy Saving Trust website is an excellent source of information on insulation, heating, energy efficient appliances and lighting.

Eastleigh Borough Council has produced a Home Energy and Fuel Poverty strategy for 2008 to 2011.
