What Can I Do 2
Activities and interests from volleyball to
radio transmitters will be on display at Eastleigh’s Leigh Road
Recreation Ground on Saturday. The ‘What Can I Do’ event,
designed to help people between the ages of 11 and 25 find out
about interests, activities and clubs will follow last year’s
successful format.
Some 13 organisations will be represented and
providing demonstrations of their activities. These will
include Eastleigh Rugby Club, Eastleigh Volleyball Club, Eastleigh
Model Railway Club, Fleming Park Leisure Centre, the Army and Air
Cadets, Scouts and local amateur radio plus four bands and the
Eastleigh Youth Theatre.
“What Can I Do” day is free and will take
place on Saturday 27th September on Leigh Road
Recreation Ground from 11.00am until 4.00pm.
Last year the event attracted an estimated
2000 visitors with many signing up to join the local clubs who
attended.
It is organised by local charity Solent Youth
Action with the Borough Council and Chair of Eastleigh Local Area
Committee, Chris Thomas commented “Last year’s event showed how
positive Eastleigh’s younger generation really are – with hundreds
taking an interest in what was on offer. I am sure that this
year will be just as popular.”
