What Can I Do 2

Activities and interests from volleyball to radio transmitters will be on display at Eastleigh’s Leigh Road Recreation Ground on Saturday.  The ‘What Can I Do’ event, designed to help people between the ages of 11 and 25 find out about interests, activities and clubs will follow last year’s successful format.

Some 13 organisations will be represented and providing demonstrations of their activities.  These will include Eastleigh Rugby Club, Eastleigh Volleyball Club, Eastleigh Model Railway Club, Fleming Park Leisure Centre, the Army and Air Cadets, Scouts and local amateur radio plus four bands and the Eastleigh Youth Theatre.

“What Can I Do” day is free and will take place on Saturday 27th September on Leigh Road Recreation Ground from 11.00am until 4.00pm.

Last year the event attracted an estimated 2000 visitors with many signing up to join the local clubs who attended.

It is organised by local charity Solent Youth Action with the Borough Council and Chair of Eastleigh Local Area Committee, Chris Thomas commented “Last year’s event showed how positive Eastleigh’s younger generation really are – with hundreds taking an interest in what was on offer.  I am sure that this year will be just as popular.”
