Water Fluoridation Consultation
A public consultation is taking place between 8th
September 2008 and 19th December 2008 to help decide
whether to increase the level of fluoride in the water in parts of
Southampton and south west Hampshire.
The consultation is being co-ordinated by South Central
Strategic Health Authority (SHA) following a request made by
Southampton City Primary Care Trust. This proposed scheme would
supply approximately 195,000 residents with fluoridated water. The
areas that will be affected by this proposal are: Central
Southampton, Lordshill, Freemantle, Polygon, Totton, parts of
Eastleigh, Weston, Shirley, Portswood, St Denys, Netley, Aldermoor,
Millbrook, Bassett and Woolston.
Eastleigh Borough Council is not leading the
consultation. Please see the website below for ways to have your
say, find out whether you are affected by putting in your postcode
and gain further information.
