Falkland Road Area Parking Restrictions

Preliminary work is currently under way to provide a range of new parking restrictions for the Falkland Road area of Chandler’s Ford.

The restrictions will be aimed at stopping vehicles from parking on verges, preventing parking around junctions and introducing a residents’ parking scheme in the North End Copse area.

Residents in the North End Copse area will be consulted directly by letter or leaflets in the coming months and we also intend to hold a public exhibition so that members of the public can view plans of where parking restrictions may go and raise any queries with Council staff. Comments and objections from members of the public will then be considered by the Eastleigh Local Area Committee, which will decide if the proposals should still go ahead.

Before new parking restrictions can be implemented we have to produce a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO). There is a statutory process for producing TROs, which can take many months, especially if there are objections to the proposals.

We are currently at the Statutory Consultation phase, consulting with the County Council, Local Members, Police and Emergency Services the draft plans can be viewed here:

This page will be kept updated with news on how the proposals are developing but if you have any queries in the meantime please contact the Traffic and Road Safety Team at engineers@eastleigh.gov.uk or telephone 023 8068 8288.
