Eastleigh Launches Green Homes Welcome Packs

Eastleigh Borough Council is one of the first local authorities to launch a "Green Homes Welcome Pack" which is being distributed through 10 local Estate Agents to new homeowners in the borough.  The pack includes information about energy efficiency and residential 'renewable' energy, recycling, green transport options, and grants to make home improvements, including Eastleigh's new Private Loan Scheme.  It also has information about the new Home Information Packs.  It is hoped that the packs will encourage new homeowners to live more sustainably, and to ensure their homes are as energy efficient as possible, in preparation for the new requirement for home Energy Performance Certificates.  The pack will also be distributed to selected lettings agents.

The pack was delivered through the Environment Centre in Southampton, who are also liaising with local estate agents, who will offer the packs to those who register with them, or are just moving in to their new homes.  The Environment Centre will be monitoring the response so that we can ensure new residents receive what they would most like to have advice and information about.
