Fair Oak Landfill Study - 2007
Since 1988, the Council has been monitoring for landfill gas in
and around the Fair Oak area. The Council has reviewed the
current landfill gas sampling and now intends to extend the
sampling area. The
leaflet
pdf
provides details of the proposals for the extended monitoring
together with information explaining the reasons for the expanded
study.
This information has been distritbuted to around 1,200
properties in and around the study area to ensure that residents
and businesses are aware of the proposals. Members of the
public were invited to attend an exhibition of our proposals, which
was staffed by officers from Environmental Health. The
exhibition details were:-
- Thursday 29th March - 10.00am - 5.30pm
- Friday 30th March - 10.00am - 5.30pm
- Saturday 31st March - 9.45am - 11.30am
All of these sessions were held at the Acorn Social Club,
Winchester Road, Fair Oak.
The area of the study has been based on advice received from
independent consultants and has taken into account the distribution
of the old sandpits, local geology and the results from previous
monitoring that has been undertaken.
