The Borough Council works hard to ensure that the streets and towns of the Borough are clean and litter free.

Our 53 StreetScene operatives provide a wide range of services to help achieve this aim:-

• The Council empties over 750 litterbins every week.
• Annually we spend just under £2,000,000 on keeping the roads, grass areas, shrub beds and hedges in a clean and litter free state.
• Each month we collect on average over 5 tonnes of rubbish that has been illegally dumped across the Borough.
• Annually we collect and dispose ofover 1200 tonnes of litter and mechanical sweepings.
• 228 vehicles were reported abandoned during the last year of which 79 were scrapped.
• 300 dog waste bins are emptied weekly and annually we collect over 90 tonnes of dog waste.
