Health and Well-being
The Health and Community Team develops health policies and
partnerships for the Council that helps it to achieve its overall
aim of improving the quality of life for all local people.
We aim to work in partnership with local statutory and
voluntary agencies, local communities and residents to improve the
health and well-being of people living and working in the borough
of Eastleigh.
Some examples of our work include:
Projects:
- Teenage Drop-In sessions at locations across the borough
- Cook and Eat courses in local primary schools
- 'Healthworks' a GP exercise referral scheme and
'Healthwalks' led by volunteers.
- Small community grants to support neighbourhoods activity
groups
- Home Information Support Scheme
- Eastleigh Handyperson Scheme
- Mobile crèche facilities
- Confident Parents/Confident Kids courses
- Stress project to support businesses
Healthy living requires access to information, services and
opportunities to improve our chances of leading a long and healthy
life, we therefore work with many agencies and services to achieve
this. For example see
Leisure and
Community section.
