The Citizens' Panel - Background

This site displays the results from our Citizens’ Panel of residents. The Panel responds to regular Viewpoint surveys. These surveys contain questions on a wide range of (mainly) local issues, with most questions generated from units within Council, and more occasionally by our partner agencies e.g. The Police, local colleges etc. Each Panel lasts for about three years and in 2006 we created our fourth Citizen's Panel of currently around 500 residents.

The Results

• The latest information above shows the results from the last Viewpoint Survey the Panel answered in February/March 2008.
• The results below are from the Viewpoint surveys the current and previous Panel answered between 2003-7. Clicking on the appropriate links will take you directly to the results from the survey, and includes some mapped information showing how panellists from different areas of the borough responded to the questions.
• All the survey’s information are summarised in brief summary reports. The more recent surveys also have accompanying data tables that display the frequencies and percentages for every question. These data tables show the number of panellists responding to each question option and its corresponding percentage.
• The Viewpoint Discussion Group Summary reports on the results of a series of focus group meetings with panellists from November 2004.
