Full application for the

Crescent and construction of 189 residential units. These

The application also
includes car parking, landscaping and the provision of public open
space.
Submission of the
application follows consultation with the tenants.
Previous applications by
Atlantic Housing for redevelopment of the Velmore Estate led to
representations on behalf of some residents that their human rights
would be breached by redevelopment proposals. The Council did
not make a decision on the application within the specified time
limit and determination was carried out by the Planning
Inspectorate. The Inspector found that the human rights of
some residents might be affected by the proposals. Atlantic
challenged this decision in the High Court where it was found that
the Inspector’s decision was incorrect and was therefore
quashed.
The earliest that the
current application can be considered by the Eastleigh Local Area
Committee will be at its meeting on 16th September.
