Street Soccer Summer
The idea of this project was to provide the people in
Avairy, Velmore and North
End Copse with a positive experience throughout the Summer
holidays.
The football training was completely FREE
for all participants and available for boys and
girls aged 8-16 years.
This Project was established in partnership with:
- North End Copse Residents
Committee
- Avairy Residents Association
- Eastleigh Housing Association
The two residents associations successfully received grants from
Awards for
All in order to help their funding of this summer
long programme on local recreation grounds.

The project proved a massive success and the
coaching sessions attracted over 500 young people,
with a number of the participants being signed up to play football
for a local club. If this project had not taken place this
opportunity may have never occurred.
The day was run by
Team Elite and included
an inter estate football tournament and mini olympics.
Street Soccer October 2004
After the success of this summer's pilot scheme a similar
initiative was established at Grantham Green
during October half term. The Project was
run by professional sports coaching company -
Team Elite. The
scheme ran for three days and attracted over
60 young people.
The project was funded by Eastleigh Borough
Council and Atlantic Housing
Association.
Street Sport 2005
Due to the success of Street Soccer the project will now be
expanded next year to incorporate other sports and
new areas across the Borough of Eastleigh.
South West
Trains have confirmed that they will be
contributing to next year's Street Sport scheme. This money
will also be backed by financial support from Atlantic Housing
Association, Healthy Living Network
and Eastleigh Borough Council. The project
will also work in partnership with various agencies including
Team
Elite, Totally Tennis, Eastleigh Football Club
and St Francis Youth Football Club.
