About Us and Contact Details
The Building Control Unit consists of a Building Control
Partnership Manager, a Principal Building Control
Surveyor, four Building Control Surveyors, one of which is
part-time and three Administration Support Staff, two of which
are part-time.
In addition to permanent staff, consultant structural
engineers are retained for the checking of complex structural
details and calculations. Occasionally, as work
load dictates, consultant plans vetters are employed to ensure
that deposited applications are processed without undue
delay.
A Building Control Surveyor is normally available
at the Civic Offices between 8.30 am -10.30 am and 3.00 pm
- 5.00 pm Monday to Thursday and 3.00 pm - 4.30 pm Friday
during which telephone calls and personal callers are
welcome. Outside these times it is recommended
that an appointment be made with the Surveyor in question.
If you require non-technical general advice and assistance,
Administration Staff are available during normal office hours
(8.30 am - 5.00 pm Monday to Thursday, 8.30 am - 4.30 pm
Friday).
