The Council has adopted standards that apply to all houses
that are in multiple occupation (HMOs), such as bedsits and houses
converted into flats. The standards cover the provision of adequate
fire precautions and amenities that are designed to protect the
health, safety and welfare of the occupiers.
If you are a landlord with a HMO or are a private tenant
living in a HMO you can contact the Council for assistance to
ensure that the property meets with the required standards.
