Homechoice

Eastleigh Homechoice is the name of the Council's Housing Register.

Eastleigh Borough Council does not own any of its own accommodation, but maintains and manages the Eastleigh Homechoice Housing Register on behalf of its partner housing associations who do own properties in the Borough.

Any housing association vacancies are advertised and let through the Eastleigh Homechoice Housing Register.

Mutual Exchanges

In some cases, tenants of local authorities and housing associations have a right to 'mutually exchange'.  This means that they can 'swap' their property with someone else's.  This scheme provides applicants with opportunities to move to other areas for employment reasons etc.

If you are interested in a mutual exchange you will need to contact your landlord who will give you further advice.

Results

Results of previously advertised properties are published so that applicants can gauge how long they will have to wait for the property of their choice.

Details are published on how many applicants applied for a property and banding details of the successful applicant.

Review of Eastleigh Homechoice Register Decision

If you are unhappy with the priority band your Homechoice application has been placed in, you can appeal.
The leaflet Requesting a review of Eastleigh Homechoice Register decisions ( pdf )' explains how to do this.

Sheltered Accommodation

If you wish to apply for sheltered accommodation in the Borough you only need to complete one application form for Eastleigh Homechoice.  You are able to apply to join the Register through this website or, alternatively, contact us and we will arrange to send you a form in the post.

Not all the Housing Associations working in the Borough providing sheltered accommodation are part of the combined register and therefore you will need to contact them direct.

Further information regarding all the schemes in the Borough can be found in the

Transfers

If you are a tenant of one of the housing associations in the Eastleigh Borough area you may be eligible for a transfer to a larger or smaller property in the Borough.  If you want further information on your eligibility for a transfer you should contact your landlord.
