Lakeside Country Park
Welcome to Lakeside Country Park, 60 acres of lakes, wet
meadow and woodland situated between Eastleigh and Southampton.
These restored gravel works offer the ideal day out for all, and
for the keen-eyed, the Country Park has a range of birds, insects
and small mammals as well as the occasional fox and deer. Enjoy a
walk around with your dog on the designated paw trail; stop and
have lunch at one of our picnic sites, take part in one of our
activities. Relax with a days fishing,
or a fun ride on the train, or just watch the world go by...
Watersports
Waterside tree planting helps to make the
ideal sheltered location for water activities including canoeing,
model boating, windsurfing and dinghy sailing. However for
everyone's enjoyment and safety no motorized craft, inflatables or
swimming is allowed.
As from April 2008 individual users are
no longer permitted to use the water.
There is a charge for use of the lakes, which includes access
to the pavilion. The pavilion provides groups with changing rooms
and showers, a small kitchen and a lecture room. Booking as
far ahead as possible is essential. Groups need to register each
year, book with a member of staff and abide by the rules and
regulations.
Water quality is regularly tested during the summer and the
site has achieved a high standard of cleanliness.

We ask all dog owners to follow a couple of simple
rules:-

- Please keep your dog under close control as this site has
sensitive wildlife and not all visitors are fond of dogs -
especially muddy ones!
