- The opening ceremony of the subway in Winchester
Road
The subway in
Winchester Road near Thornden School has received a major facelift
this summer thanks to hard
work by the students
of Thornden School and funding from Hampshire County Council’s
Passenger Transport
Group and the
Local Area Committee. Highlights of the underpass opening
ceremony.

The four wards of Chandler's Ford East and West and
Hiltingbury East and West form the northern most part of the
Borough and elect eight Councillors. This area borders Test
Valley to the west, Winchester to the north and the M3 to the
east.
Some 20,000 residents live in
Chandler's Ford and Hiltingbury and the area is largely suburban in
nature with Hiltingbury in particular a highly desirable
residential part of the Borough. It includes a number of
small shopping areas, but there are areas of open space,
refurbished lakes, managed countryside sites and attractive walks
as well.
There is a private hospital and an industrial estate sited
locally so all in all an area of significant contrasts.
Visitors may also wish to explore the following external
websites which provide useful information on the local
community.
The Local Area Committee aims to use local knowledge to
identify priorities in the Chandlers Ford and Hiltingbury
area. For more details follow the links below:
