The Council will produce in summer  2007 an annual update to the Housing Strategy in the form of a position statement.

We have produced a 'Balancing Housing Markets' self-assessment which is required as part of the council's submission for its Comprehensive Performance Assessment. This document looks at the work that the council's Housing and Planning Services are doing in order to address any gaps in the type of housing available in the Borough and to assist those residents who are unable to secure homes for themselves through the current private housing market.

  • It sets out the council's ambitions in this area, the types of initiatives it has in place to work towards these ambitions and what it has achieved so far.  It also explains what the council has learnt in carrying out these activities and how it will use these lessons in delivering future services.

Accessible Homes Strategy

The Accessible Homes Strategy  (word) outlines the problems faced by those with mobility related disabilities in accessing suitable housing in the Borough of Eastleigh. It highlights the already high and increasing costs associated with adaptation works carried out to existing homes, sets the overall issue against the context of current legislative and regulatory framework and recommends progress towards the provision of lifetime homes and wheelchair accessible housing.
