The Council's Home Energy Conservation and Fuel Poverty Strategy explains the work we are doing to reduce energy use in domestic properties.

Much of the work we do is undertaken in partnership with other local authorities through SHECANe (Southern Home Energy Conservation and Action Network). SHECANe is a group of local authorities developing partnerships to reduce domestic fossil fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions, and to eliminate fuel poverty across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Our projects include:

Climate and Energy Fair - held on the 12 October 2008
Hampshire Solar Challenge an inter-school competition to design and build solar powered models.
Windyhomes Project - trials of residential mini wind turbines.
