Despite the fact that Eastleigh Borough Council does not have
a statutory responsibility to support local bus services we do take
a pro-active role in promoting public transport and we do provide
subsidies for selected local services. These are
services that do not meet the criterion set out by Hampshire County
Council but are services that this Council feels are socially
necessary and services that fill important gaps in the local
network. In particular we
support Service 16(evenings and Sundays), Service A
(evenings and Sundays), C1 and C2, Bluestar 2 (Sunday evenings),
Service 25 and Service 56 as well as Nitebus N6 and
N16. We also provide partnership funding to support
shared taxi schemes serving the Campbell Road and Chalvington Road
areas of Eastleigh
Thursday market
bus
Nitebus
