** Important changes to the Appeals process will come
into force on 6 April 2009.**
The most significant change is the introduction of The
Householder Appeal Service (HAS).
This aims to speed up the householder written
representations appeal process and will relate
to householder applications received on or after 6 April
2009.
New Guidance explains these and other changes as well
as the procedures to be followed at appeal.

Do I need an appointment to see
someone?
A
Duty Planning
Officer is available everyday between the hours of
9.30 am and 12 Noon for
general
advice and assistance. The Duty Planning
Officer will only be able to spend a short amount of time with each
caller. If you need longer than 10 minutes; wish to see
an
Enforcement Officer; or
if you wish to arrange a
pre-application
appointment with a planning officer, then
please contact them
direct
within the area they cover.
Due to the need to fully check
details and be legally accurate, it is not possible
for Officers to give verbal advice on the need for an
application. These requests are required in writing either by
letter or by completing an
enquiry form. The
information leaflets
'Do I need planning permission' will
assist.
Our
Information
Assistants in our reception area are available throughout
the day to assist with general enquiries,

- Planning Advice Help Line
- Planning Aid South (PAS) provides free advice and support if you
need help with planning problems but cannot afford to pay planning
consultants' fees, please follow this link for more information

- PAS have published their
first list of PAS / IDeA accredited contractors for planning.
Those on the list are (mainly) planning
professionals that have been assessed through the IDeA peer
clearing house as having the right sort of skills and track record
to work successfully with and alongside local authorities in the
delivery of their planning services. Please follow this link for

- Planning Application Committee Reports will be available
5 working days prior to the relevant committee.
Access to these is via the Online Planning
Service.
- Minutes from Local Area Committee meetings should appear no
later than one week after the meeting.

Council offices. They can also be found at the Chandler's Ford,
Eastleigh and Hedge End Libraries, the local area office in
Eastleigh town centre, and in our reception area. Eastleigh,
