Meet the Buyers
A BUSINESS match-making day that last year generated deals worth
an estimated £6.25 million is returning to Hampshire.
Organisers of the seventh South Hampshire Meet
the Buyers event, taking place at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton, say
they want to do even better than in 2012.
The event, on Thursday 28 March,
2013, is coordinated by Hampshire Chamber of Commerce in
partnership with six local authorities.
Last year, 110 suppliers and 27 buyers
participated with more than 726 pre-arranged meetings taking
The estimated value of resulting deals, £6.25
million, easily beat the £4 million generated in the year
Denise Barlow, Hampshire Chamber’s Head of
Communication and Marketing, said: “We want to do even better in
2013. The aim of the event is to give companies in South Hampshire
a chance to sell into major local and regional purchasers. It is an
unrivalled opportunity many would not otherwise have to promote
goods, products and services to major organisations, both public
and private, that operate in and around the region. The event also
helps SMEs understand public sector purchasing policies and routes
into the supply chain.”
The local authorities involved in the event
are Hampshire County Council, New Forest District Council,
Eastleigh Borough Council, Test Valley Borough Council and
Winchester City Council and Portsmouth City Council.
To help delegates prepare for Meet the Buyer
and maximise the face-to-face opportunities, Hampshire Chamber is
staging two pre-event workshops and a free training breakfast. The
workshops take place in Eastleigh and the New Forest on Wednesday,
30 January, and Wednesday, 6 February, respectively. The
training breakfast is in Eastleigh on Tuesday, 12 March.
